Delphi 2009 release on Monday August 25?

Posted on August 20, 2008

An article published on eWeek.com states that “Delphi 2009 and C++Builder 2009 will be available on Aug. 25 with North American pricing beginning at $399 per license for Professional editions, $1,299 for Enterprise editions and $2,299 for Architect editions.“

The eWeek’s article has a publishing date of 2008-08-19 so I must assume that the release date quoted in the article is recent. However, I have not seen any of the announcement e-mails that usually precedes the launch of a new release of Delphi. Perhaps this e-mails will be sent out today? Or perhaps this is the new way of doing things? Or maybe the article is wrong? Stay tuned.

I have looked on CGs website and I cannot find any mention to Delphi 2009 being launched anytime soon. All I can find is a page with “Sneak Peeks”.

I will believe it when I see it.

PS: In the article it’s mentioned that we are now more than 2 million. That’s great!

The pricing might be for “new user” licenses in which case the upgrade would likely be less.
